General: Lapis Group has recently won an award from Education Above All to design and launch Youm Jadeed, an education focused project for Palestine. About the Project: Youm Jadeed (New Day) is an educational and psychosocial support initiative designed for Palestinian children aged 7-11. This project, funded by Education Above All, leverages radio, social media and other digital platforms to mitigate harm associated with the educational gap caused by ongoing conflict and provide psychosocial support and resources for children and caretakers. Over the coming 7 months the program aims to develop and broadcast 90 packages of educational content that include a radio program and supplementary audio-visual material for broadcast over FM and online streaming. This will be complemented by a robust multi-platform dissemination and community engagement strategy.
Position Overview: The Project Manager will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of the Youm Jadeed educational and psychosocial support project for children aged 7-11 in conflict-affected Palestine. Reporting to and supporting the Project Director/Senior Technical Advisor, the Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the project, ensuring it meets its objectives, stays on schedule, and adheres to the budget. The role involves coordination with stakeholders, managing project documentation, schedules, resources, and delivering progress reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Implementation:
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans to ensure all project tasks are completed on time.
- Coordinate with the Project Director to align project activities with strategic objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the project, ensuring all activities are executed effectively and efficiently.
- Manage assigned team members and consultants to ensure timely delivery of commitments and meeting KPIs. Provide guidance to project staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Stakeholder Coordination and Communication:
- In coordination with the Project Director, act as a primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including partners, donors, and community organizations involved in the implementation of activities.
- Facilitate regular communication with stakeholders to provide updates, gather feedback, and address concerns.
- Organize and coordinate project meetings, ensuring clear communication of project goals, progress, and challenges.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Monitor project budget and expenditures, ensuring alignment with financial plans and donor regulations.
- Work with the finance team to prepare and submit financial reports to the donor.
- Ensure efficient use of project resources, including staff, equipment, and materials.
- Identify potential project risks and work with the Project Director and other team members to develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Director, Lapis Management and donor, highlighting achievements, challenges, and next steps.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including plans, reports, and communication records.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, education, international development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in education and/or humanitarian sectors. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience working with local and international stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, and community organizations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
