Project psychologist
Palestinian Organization for Development (POD) is a non-governmental, non-profit and independent Organization, founded in Al-Wusta governorate - Gaza Strip in 2000. POD works toward social-economic development to perform positive changes in the human life.
POD in partnership with Catholic Relief Services CRS starts a program entitled ” Child Friendly Spaces (Farah Centers) “ under the CPP emergency response program funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). POD is recruiting candidates for the following positions:
Title: Project psychologist
Place: Al Wusta governorate , Gaza Strip
Starting date: ASAP
Duration: 5 months with possible extension depending on funding availability
Tasks and responsibilities:
1-Gather input for program development and monitoring, rolling out standards, methods and tools.
2-Ensure that POD methods and standards for the implementation of PSS programs are developed/revised and remain updated based on POD programming practice and international standards.
3-Implement POD quality standards and PSS Minimum standards.
4-Stimulate and monitor PSS programming.
5-Support the revision of the PSS methodology and the development of new methodologies.
6-Suggest modifications of sessions and exercises in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment, based on the feedback from trainees and children.
7-Plan, implement and evaluate training courses on POD PSS methodology, which involves creative tools such as games, songs, fine art, audio-visuals, group discussions,
demonstrations, and practice sessions with feedback and role play.
8-Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to program staff in the field of PSS.
9-Provide recommendations to POD management when necessary on recruitment of
potential facilitators and animators.
10-Support the identification and packaging of PSS advocacy issues.
11-Provide Project coordinator with PSS reports and recommendations.
12-Perform any other tasks required by Executive Manager.
Qualifications:
1-Bachelor Degree in Psychology .
2-Minimum working experience of 3 years.
3-Experience working with people affected by violence.
4-Experience in conducting individual/family/group psychotherapies for adolescents and children.
5-Experience in community psycho-education.
6-Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English & Arabic.
