Stars of Hope Society for the Empowerment of Women with Disabilities (SHS), Located in Ramallah, is a non-profit association registered by the Palestinian Authority and founded in 2006 under the charitable Association and civil Bodies.
Stars of Hope Society (SHS) is a lead organization for women with all types of disabilities in Palestine. It is a woman-centered organization that works on a collective model. Women with disabilities run our organization to help and empower other women with disabilities. It is the only organization of its kind in Palestine and one of a minimal number internationally.
Objective of the position:
The Projects Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, organizing and implementing numerous activities for different projects under SHS Programs, through which SHS aims to enhance the participation and inclusion of women with disabilities (WwDs) in Palestine.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Contribute to the preparation of the projects’ operational plan.
- Follow up and engage with the target groups in the target areas of the project.
- Manage the logistic framework and project activities according to the work plan.
- Build and manage close contacts and relationships with key stakeholders, project partners, civil society organizations and officials in the targeted areas.
- Comply with SHS procedural evidence and donors procedures.
- Participate in coordinating meetings and meetings of key relevant external donors and stakeholders.
- Provide the necessary support in preparing technical reports and following up on completion reports.
- Engage in designing innovative capacity building processes in coordination with trainers and facilitators.
- Write news articles about project activities and maintain information flow for the Palestinian public.
- Document lessons learned and success stories.
- Draft terms and preparing contracts and service agreements for service providers
- Contribute to the collection of all data and information necessary to measure operational performance indicators and formulate them to monitor the progress of projects.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of field activities, collect feedback from beneficiaries, field staff with guidance and support from SHS MEL officer to identify areas for improvement and meet MEL requirements.
- Coordinate with the concerned programs and finance units regarding the technical designs of the projects.
- Actively seek the engagement and participation of women and youth throughout the implementation of the projects.
- Draft monthly work plans and expected assignments to be implemented by SHS field workers and focal points .
- Coordinate with the Programs Senior Officer regarding projects activity implementation issues such as reporting, capacity building, and other cross-cutting issues.
- Represent SHS in different coalitions and networks as needed, and provide SHS management with periodic reports.
- Any other competencies assigned to him by the line officer within the nature of work.

- Bachelor’s degree in one of the human sciences and social studies disciplines.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the field of project management with NGOs.
- Work experience in planning, monitoring, budget supervision and logistics.
- Understanding and knowledge of the Palestinian political and social framework.
- Accuracy in work and ability to observe.
- Preferable, previous relevant experience in working with Persons with disabilities (PwDs).
- High capacity to write financial and technical reports and press news.
- High capacity to network and build alliances and partnerships.
- Demonstrate writing and speaking skills in English and Arabic and fluency in both languages.
- Strong interactive facilitation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, presentation and organization skills.
- Advanced communication skills.
- Advanced capabilities in working within a team (team player).
- Be highly committed, able to work under pressure, adapt to new situations and meet deadlines.
Excellent computer skills, MS office, MS Project, Excel functions, and PowerPoint
