Projects Site Engineers

 

CHF International is implementing a labor-intensive infrastructure/jobs creation program in the West Bank and Gaza with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).  This Emergency Jobs Program (EJP) will provide targeted skilled and unskilled emergency employment opportunities through small-scale, labor-intensive infrastructure projects in close collaboration with public and private sector entities, communities, and local organizations in the West Bank. CHF International is seeking qualified candidates to assume the following position:

 

The three Projects Site Engineers will be based in Hebron City and South West Bank localities.
Duration: 6 to 10 months

Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily works and daily activities handled by the Contractor at the project sites assuring the required quality of works as requested in the contract documents; ensure quality control and assurance of construction activates and ensure maximum labor content and use of local material in implementation; review, comment and approve the shop-drawings, materials and work plans submitted by the Contractor or any of his representatives with the support of EJP’s Regional Engineer; review, measure, comment and preliminary approve the requested periodic payments submitted by the Contractor; in coordination with the Regional Engineer and the Infrastructure Manager and other EJP Staff; ensure compliance with CHF’s and USAID’s requirements on safety measures and environmental assessment, branding, and preparation for any visits from donor and/or other stakeholders.

Key qualifications:
-A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
-At least 7 years of experience working in site supervision of job creating in building construction projects.
-Prior experience working with USAID or other donor funded projects
-Report writing skills in English and Arabic is an advantage
-Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Local Authorities, community members and groups during different project phases. Awareness of community participation approaches in planning, implementation and monitoring is a plus.
-Excellent skills in Microsoft Office and Engineering software programs
-Registered with the Engineers Association Jerusalem Center. A valid driving license is an advantage
