Projects Support Officer
Purpose of the job:
This job is an exciting opportunity to work in the British Consulate General’s Engagement team, to oversee the development and delivery of the Consulate’s conflict, security and stability fund (CSSF) programme activity in Gaza. The job holder will be based in Gaza, working from the British Information and Support Office (BISO) in Gaza City. The position will exist for one year.
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual, ideally with programme and project management experience. The successful applicant will have the drive and ability to see projects through from inception to delivery and impact assessment. The individual will also have experience in producing high-quality, fast work in collaboration with a range of stakeholders, including at senior levels.

The position is full-time, fixed term at 38 hours a week with considerations of flexibility depending on circumstances.
This position is valid until the end of the financial year on 31 March 2019 only.
The job holder will be based in Gaza at the British Information and Support Office.

Essential:
• Fluent communication skills in English and Arabic language (both written and spoken, this will be tested).
• Experience in managing projects for an international organisation or donor.
• Highly organised and able to work in a diverse, high-performing environment and to Director level.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build productive working relations with project implementers and wider stakeholders
• Proven ability to take responsibility for own work, with a track record as a team player
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills are required to deliver projects in a dynamic environment
• Literacy in Microsoft Office packages, specifically MS Excel relational spreadsheets for the budget and MS Word for reporting
Desirable:
• Knowledge of politics and society in the Occupied Palestinian Territories
