GFA has been commissioned by the German government through Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to implement the More Job Opportunities for Palestinian Youth project through Dual Studies at Al Quds University. The University launched three Dual Studies courses: Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, and Business Administration. The promotion & communication expert will help support the program team at Al Quds University in East Jerusalem in promoting the programs all over the West Bank and Jerusalem. We are looking for a qualified candidate to fulfil one-year contract position of “Promotion & Communication Expert”.

Job Summary

The Expert is responsible for developing and coordinating marketing plans, publications, promotion materials, and social media as well as writing journalistic texts for announcements, press releases and online media.


Main Responsibilities

-Develop, manage, and execute marketing plans for the Dual Studies, including advertising and promotion.
-Market and coordinate events and meetings.
-Develop journalistic texts and edit press releases and other publications.
-Manage social marketing and promotion campaigns.
-Coordinate, develop and produce internal and external publications, promotion materials; including web-based and social media.
-Edit, proofread, and design texts and visual information for publications as needed.
-Manage and develop the content of the project’s website and Facebook page and update online media related to news and events.
-Work with the different university departments to create an identity and promote the Dual Studies.
-Review and select service providers for social marketing, advertising and production of promotional materials.
-Evaluate promotion efforts for effectiveness.
-Manage promotion budget as required.
-Research marketing and promotion strategies and recommend changes in methods and materials, including social media tools, sites, and applications.
-Train and supervise staff as assigned.
-Prepare presentations and visits to schools in the West Bank and Jerusalem to promote the Dual Studies for future students.
-Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, media or any other related field (Master's Degree is a plus).
-A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
-Excellent journalistic writing skills in Arabic and English.
-Strongly service-focussed, friendly personality, well organized and highly motivated.
-Fluent in English (oral and written), German would be a plus.
-Excellent computer and media skills, MS Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
-Excellent social and communication skills.
-Work experience in (higher) education sector would be an asset.
-Ability to manage the Dual Studies website and Facebook page.
-Ability to travel and visit schools all over the West Bank and Jerusalem.
-Ability to work under stressful conditions, prove self-initiative, flexible and able to work with people of different backgrounds.


Assignment

Starting as soon as possible, no later than 1st of Nov, 2015 on a 12-month contract.
