Job Title: Proposal Writer (Short-Term Contract)

Location: Remote, Jerusalem  with knowledge of the Palestinian context

MEND is an innovative and pioneering Palestinian non-profit organization, established in 1998 in East Jerusalem, with the aim of promoting active nonviolence and participatory democracy via education, media and activism, as the basis for the creation of equality, justice, and lasting peace throughout the region.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Proposal Writer with a strong understanding of the Palestinian context and experience working with Palestinian NGOs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our organization's efforts by drafting compelling grant proposals and funding applications.

1. Research and analyze funding opportunities from various sources, including government agencies, foundations, and international donors, with a focus on initiatives relevant to Palestinian NGOs.
2. Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals, concept notes, and other funding applications tailored to the specific needs and guidelines of each donor.
3. Develop existing proposals by revising, updating, and enhancing content based on feedback from donors, stakeholders, and internal reviewers.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (international development, management , communications), or any related filed. 
2. Demonstrated experience (minimum 2 years) working with Palestinian NGOs and/or within the Palestinian context, with a strong understanding of the social, economic, and political dynamics in the region.
3. Proven track record of successfully securing funding from a variety of donors, including government agencies, foundations, and multilateral organizations.
4. Strong English writing and editing skills
5. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
