Type: Full Time Contract
Duration of the contract: Three months, with a possibility of extension based on performance and fund availability.

Summary:
Médicos del Mundo-Spain (MdM-S), is an international humanitarian organization, working to make effective the Universal Right to Health. MdM is a non-profitable, non-governmental, non-political and non-confessional organization operating under the principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence.
MdM-S has been working in the oPt since 2006. Its work has been oriented to Mental Health and Psychosocial support (MHPSS), and Primary Healthcare. In the Gaza Strip, MdM-S strategy aims the improvement of mental health and wellbeing of children and adolescents. This intervention is focused on the strengthening of governmental children and adolescent’s mental health services, and community organizations working with children and adolescents through a capacity building approach. This includes training activities and materials and equipment’s provision.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE:
- To support the Protection Officer in the implementation of the protection mainstreaming across all MdM-S and local partner activities within the Gaza base.
- To assist with the execution of the protection mainstreaming strategy and ensuring the proper implementation of safeguarding and compliance activities.
- To help in the implementation and follow-up of the MdM-S monitoring, transparency, and accountability process.
I. FUNCTIONS
- Operational Tasks
- Assist the protection officer in conducting regular field visits to MdM-S and local partner intervention sites to monitor the application and compliance of protection mainstreaming activities.
- Support the implementation of protection mainstreaming directly with the affected population, including conducting awareness sessions, sharing key protection messages, and providing information on available services and rights.
- Support MdM-S and local partners in compliance processes related to interventions data collection, management, and reporting process following MdM guidelines and protocols.
- Help in the collection and initial analysis of data related to protection activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with participatory and data protection protocols.
- Assist in managing the referral system by ensuring proper documentation and tracking of cases referred to other services, under the guidance of the Protection Officer.
- Provide logistical support for the implementation of PSEA protocols and procedures within MdM-S and local partner teams, including the organization of training sessions.
- Support the Protection Officer to actively participate in the promotion, establishment, and follow-up of MdM-S Feedback and Complaint Mechanisms, ensuring they are accessible, confidential, and responsive to the needs of the affected population.
- Program Support
- Assist in the preparation and updating of protection-related reports, documents, and tools, ensuring that they are aligned with the MdM-S guidelines and international protection standards.
- Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of protection activities by collecting relevant data and contributing to the analysis and reporting processes.
- Provide support in the development of new protection action initiatives, offering logistical and operational assistance to the Protection Officer.
- Support the Protection Officer in conducting regular audits of MdM-S and local partners' interventions as part of the protection mainstreaming activities, to assess compliance with MdM-S policies.
- Support the Protection Officer in the identification of potential MdM-S policies compliance risks in operations and propose mitigation strategies.
- Capacity building
- Support the organization and facilitation of training sessions for MdM-S and local partners on protection mainstreaming, PSEA, and safeguarding, as directed by the protection officer.
- Assist in identifying the capacity-building needs of MdM-S staff and local partners related to protection and compliance and help in coordinating appropriate training and follow-up activities.
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to MdM-S and local partner staff in applying protection principles and safeguarding practices in their work.
- Networking
- Assist the Protection Officer in establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including local partners, MoH representatives, and other NGOs, to strengthen protection networks and referral pathways.
- Represent MdM-S in relevant coordination meetings as required, taking notes and reporting back to the Protection Officer on key developments and actions needed.
- Help in fostering collaboration between MdM-S and local partners by coordinating joint activities and facilitating the exchange of information and best practices.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities
- Perform additional duties as requested by the Protection Officer, MHPSS Coordinator, Field Manager, or General Coordinator.
- Attend MdM-S team meetings and provide input on protection and compliance-related discussions.
- Assist in the preparation of contingency plans in collaboration with the Protection Officer and other MdM-S team members.

2. Requiremente
Academic / Professional background:
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Law, Psychology, International Relationships or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Protection mainstreaming, protection legal framework current GBV and Child Protection principles and practices in conflict and post-conflict areas.
- A minimum of 1 year of progressive proven professional experience in the protection field is required.
- Previous working experience with local NGOs or INGO in a similar position.
- Experience in developing and conducting needs/vulnerability assessments and previous participation in beneficiary selection processes, and case management.
- Experience in GBV/Child Protection programs.
- Experience in collaborating with staff from MoH, MoEHE, MoSD and civil society organizations.
- Previous experience in community engagement and participatory approaches.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Other Skills

Language requirements:
Native Arabic.
Good command of English is and asset.
Computer literacy:
- Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Compensation package:
Medicos del Mundo’s Salary charts will apply.
