Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization that intents to help, to bring relief and to protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts or by economic collapse. Position: Protection Projects Officer - Full time
Number of Positions: 1
Responsible To: Protection Project Manager​
Location: Ramallah Office, with frequent trips
Duration: 12 months (extendable)
 
SUMMARY :
In the frame of the humanitarian mission of SIF in the area of West Bank, The Protection Projects Officer will assist the Project Manager in monitoring and tracking programs department projects & ensure a good follow up of the projects coordination procedures.
 
The Protection Projects Officer is responsible for the direct implementation of protection activities. The tasks described here are not exhaustive or limited. Due to the nature of the mission and the organization, The Protection Projects Officer may be requested to perform further tasks related to his/her responsibilities here.
 
Needs assessment
- Participate in the identification of needs for different SIF projects;
- Carry-out questionnaires, surveys and focus groups under the guidance of the Project Manager;
- Data collection and participation to the data analysis.
 
Implementation of protection activities
- Ensure the correct implementation of projects activities as defined by the Project Manager;
- Realise field visits in order to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the project activities;
- Participate in the planning of the projects activities;
- Edit technical reports;
- Propose solutions or improvements for the smooth running of the project.
- 
Partnership follow-up
- Maintain good relationship with partners;
- Co-organise and participate in review meetings under the supervision of the Project Manager;
- Maintain contact with relevant national and international INGOs.
 
Project team management
- Participation in the recruitment of technical staff under the supervision of the Project manager;
- Coordinate activities and sensitize local partners in the field;
- Plan and organize the team work of the team;
 
- Capacity building of the team if needed.
Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation of the projects
- Assure a good internal follow-up of the projects in accordance with the project cycle, logical framework, and timeframe;
- Ensure on time reporting to the Project Manager;
- Resuming the results of the various activities/surveys in order to share the lessons learnt.
- Enhance the technical quality of the project;
- Propose new directions for the project.
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

- University degree in human sciences or related relevant field such as Psychology, Pedagogy, social sciences; and project management
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in NGO or institutions conducting humanitarian work;
- Knowledge of project cycle management and logical framework methodology;
- Ability to work in multicultural environments;
- Previous experience of project management and working with national partner organizations;
- Knowledge of community based interventions, social cohesion and gender sensitive programs;
- Experience of conducting and managing questionnaires, surveys and Focus Groups;
- Proven financial management skills;
- Good command of procurement procedures and practice; Ability to write clear, well founded and substantiated project reports and assessments in English;
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English;
- Flexibility and capacity to work effectively beyond working hours;
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and supervisory skills;
- Commitment and punctuality;
- Cultural awareness;
- Qualities: team spirit, patient, flexible, open minded, sociable, great sense of responsibility.
 
Desirable:
 
- Experience in M&E and beneficiary accountability;
- Driving license;
