Psychologist

Médecins du Monde (MDM) France is an international medical organization, which has been present in the Palestinian territories since 1995. It operates in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank through offices located in Jerusalem, Gaza and Nablus.

MDM is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the positions of Psychologist based in Nablus.
Starting Date: 16 of February 2014.
Duration: full time, 12 months (with possibility to be extended)

I-MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
-Co-responsible within the psychologist team for the organization of the mental health training for PHCC staff (Preparation of modules, organization of the trainings, participate as a trainer,…);
-Provide supervision and in-service training to the PHCC staff on mental health topics and the MH referral system.
-Organize the process of adoption of the protocol of referral throughout the Governorate of Nablus in connection with the policy of MH of MoH (workshops, meetings, elaboration of documents…).
-Follow up and supervise the referral system activities in the targeted Community Mental Health Centers (CMHC), and Primary Health Care Centers (PHCCs) , and coordinate the follow up of the referred cases with other staff members and partners in charge of the schools and the PHCCs.
-Participate in the establishment of a common data collection system for MH in Health structures.
-Leading and facilitating therapeutic and awareness group activities for male family members and care givers in collaboration with the Social Worker.
-Participates in the organization and preparation of the community awareness and de-stigmatization activities, including knowledge surveys, elaboration of brochures, etc.
-Participate in the preparation and organization of other relevant activities in cooperation with Nablus team (events, group training sessions, refreshment courses, stress management session workshops and other scientific events)
-Contribute to needs assessments, and participate in formulating and designing new projects in the field of mental health.
-Contribute to the elaboration of the MDM communication and advocacy strategy and to its implementation.
-Provides support to other mental health professionals, school counselors, and social workers upon request.

II-Requirments:
-University degree as psychologist (clinical psychologist is an asset), with at least 3 years of work experience with NGOs.
-Skills in project programming and evaluation, experience in capacity building/training.
-Ability to recognize children at risk for mental health disorders
-Good knowledge and experience in implementing psycho social services and awareness session at community level
-Good knowledge of mental health diseases and psychosocial model of interventions.
-Knowledge of the context an asset.
-Good communication skills.
-Experience in training, monitoring and evaluation.
-Good command of English and Arabic languages (both written and spoken).
-Computer skills (word, excel, PowerPoint, statistics software…).
