Job Vacancy: Psychologist

The Guidance and Training Center (GTC) is a non-profit community mental health center based in Bethlehem and founded in 1994. GTC’s mission is to Provide preventive and therapeutic services in the area of mental health, especially for the child and family, and generally for the local community, and to pursue the development of knowledge, skills, and experiences of workers in this field and conducting research through programs that meet the needs of the target groups in the best professional and scientific way possible, aiming to participate in the development of mental health in the Palestinian society.

The GTC is looking to recruit a Psychologist according to the following requirements:

Contract type: Project – full time
Contract duration: one year- renewable
Location: Bethlehem

Main responsibilities include:

-Working with families, couples, divorced women and children.
-Undertaking Assessment of mental health needs.
-Develop and implement treatment plans.
-Conduct support groups and awareness workshops.
-Writing reports and record-keeping.
-Multidisciplinary team working.

Essential Requirements:

-Minimum BA in Psychology, MA degree is a plus.
-At least 2 years of proven experience in providing therapy to families and couples.
-Understanding of Women and gender issues.
-interpersonal and psychotherapeutic skills.
-excellent communication skills.
-an open-minded and sensitive approach when dealing with clients.
-Curiosity and research-minded approach;
-The ability to work as part of a team.
-Independence and self-motivation.
-Self-awareness, self-knowledge, security and self-belief.
-Capability to work under pressure.
-Arabic native speaker, Excellent command of English language is a plus.
