Duration of the contract: 06 months including 3 months' probation period, with a possibility of extension based on performance and fund availability.

Summary:
Médicos del Mundo-Spain (MdM-S), is an international humanitarian organization, working to make effective the Universal Right to Health. MdM is a non-profitable, non-governmental, non-political and non-confessional organization operating under the principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence.
The purpose of MdM-S is to provide access to health care services, assist in the health needs of the most vulnerable population, denounce the violations of human rights, promote social mobilization, and advocate for social and political changes, with a human rights-based approach and mainstreaming gender perspective.
MdM-S has been working in the oPt since 2006. Its work has been mainly focused on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Primary Healthcare, and Advocacy. In the West Bank, MdM-S is directly providing psychosocial protection to Bedouin communities in Area C and E1, and promoting community-based resilience activities. In collaboration with local partners, MdM facilitates access to primary healthcare and improves the capacity of primary education staff to integrate psychosocial and psychoeducational interventions in the schools, promote positive discipline, and cope with stressful events.
The objective of this position is to implement MHPSS activities in the target communities of Jericho Governorate and Ramallah based on MdM-S methodology and under the supervision of the Psychosocial Coordinator/Project Manager/MHPSS Coordinator.
ORGANIZATION CHART:
The Psychologist reports directly to WB Projects Manager.
I. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
MHPSS interventions
- He/she will be part of a technical team with a social worker for the implementation of MHPSS intervention with vulnerable populations in Jericho Governorate and Ramallah, which include PFA, awareness sessions, individual and group counseling sessions, PM+ program, among others.
- He/she will implement and follow up on MdM-S MHPSS Program in the selected communities, following MdM-S methodology, in coordination with the Social Worker. He/she will support the proper management of cases and referral to services needed available.
- He/she will be responsible for the Data entry process using MdM S data entry tools on time, ensuring the quality of the data collected.
Organizational development
- Ensure proper application of standards, protocols, and procedures, including data collection and analysis.
- Follow up and fulfill all reporting requirements by the Project Manager/ Technical Supervisor/ MHPSS Coordinator. Promptly report any deviation or risk detected.
- Implement assessment sessions for needs detection, key informant interviews, focus group discussions with professionals and key community members, and mapping resources, through accurate receipt of qualitative and quantitative data according to MdM technical guidelines and needs.
- Assist in the analysis of the data collected and reports both quantitatively and qualitatively.
- Contribute to elaborate monthly situation reports and mid-term donor reports.
- Support capacity building of partners and co-workers in his/her area of expertise. Develop training materials when needed.
- Actively contribute to advocacy activities of MdM concerning his/her area of expertise,
- Contribute to the knowledge management of the organization in oPt, in particular in terms of logistics, studies and reports, and potential local partners.
- Perform additional duties on request of the Project Manager, Technical Supervisor/ Field Manager, Program Coordinator, MHPSS Coordinator, and General Coordinator.
- Ensure that all relevant technical and project documentation is shared and accessible in English language, translate verbally from Arabic to English and from English to Arabic when necessary.
- Represent MdM-S in networks/clusters focused on MHPSS/health theme upon request of his/her supervisor.
- To attend MdM-S team meetings and to give qualitative input.
- To prepare, if necessary, contingency plans with the MdM-S team.

Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology required.
- Advanced studies in Clinical Psychology is an asset.
- Training in manualized psychological interventions is an asset.
- Gender studies are an asset.
- raining on MHPSS in (post) conflict environment, Human Rights, and/or Protection are assets.
Working experience:
- A minimum of 2 years in working with local NGOs or INGO in a similar position, preferably in MHPSS projects.
- The following experiences are assets:
- MHPSS programming in (post) conflict areas.
- Experience/knowledge in MHPSS outreach, case management, and community engagement.
- Experience in the design and provision of training and capacity-building activities.
Specific Skills:
- Driving license is required.
- Ability to cope with hard context.
- Ability to communicate sensitively and assertively with MdM target groups.
- Ability to draft standard and clear written communication, such as letters and reports.
- Coordination ability to perform his/her duties as part of a team.
- Results-oriented team management skills.
- Culturally sensitive, respectful attitude and collaborative approach to diversity
- Proven sense of professional discretion, integrity, and ability to work in an multi-cultural environment.
Language requirements:
- Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken, reading, and writing).
Computer literacy:
- Microsoft Office package (especially Word, Excel and Outlook).
Compensation package:
Medicos del Mundo’s Salary charts will apply. In addition, MdM Spain covers a transportation allowance for the staff.
