CHF International is implementing a five-year, Community Infrastructure Development (CID) program in the West Bank with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This program aims to improve the quality of life for Palestinians in vulnerable communities through provision of multi-sectoral infrastructure and a wide-range of capacity building initiatives. To support the implementation of this program, CHF International and partners are seeking qualified candidates to assume the following positions, on renewable yearly contracts:.
Public Outreach Coordinator
Location: Ramallah/Al-Bireh Office
Responsibilities:
The Public Outreach Coordinator will lead development of a public relations and outreach strategy for the CID Program. S/he will liaise closely with local and international news agencies to disseminate information about the CID Program and prepare press releases. S/he will also lead planning and implementation of public visibility and outreach events, and branding related to the CID program. The Public Outreach Coordinator will develop approaches for CID linkages to online marketing/communications, including, but not limited to: social media, blogs, twitter, etc. S/he will oversee production, development and distribution of Arabic and English language marketing materials and publications. The Public Outreach Coordinator will lead the development of materials for the CID website. S/he will maintain a photo and video library, and will lead production of photographic and video materials. This position will involve regular visits to West Bank field sites, and potentially to Gaza.
Key qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, international development, or related field; 3-5 years experience doing marketing/communications or public relations work, preferably with an international development organization; fluency or advanced skills in English (mandatory) and fluency or advanced skills in Arabic (preferred); prior experience organizing media events, using various public relations techniques and with a wide range of media outlets; excellent computer, editorial, design, layout and publishing skills; good organizational skills and attention to detail; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously; experience in working with international donors and USAID-funded projects, in particular, is a plus; and willingness to travel extensively to various regions of the West Bank, and potentially to Gaza.
