Purchase Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Purchasing Manager with a minimum of 4 years of proven experience in the field to join our team at Carrefour Supermarket, a part of the esteemed Maslamani Group, in Palestine. As the Purchasing Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient procurement and management of products for our supermarket. Your expertise in sourcing, negotiation, supplier relationship management, and inventory control will be essential in maintaining the availability of high-quality products while optimizing costs.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing:
   • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure a diverse and reliable supplier base.
   • Identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and conduct thorough vendor assessments.
   • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and product innovations to make informed sourcing decisions.
2. Supplier Relationship Management:
   • Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers to establish favorable terms, negotiate pricing, and ensure consistent product quality and availability.
   • Collaborate with suppliers to address any issues, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.
3. Negotiation and Contract Management:
   • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and contractual agreements that align with the company's goals.
   • Draft, review, and manage contracts to formalize agreements and maintain legal compliance.
4. Inventory Control and Demand Planning:
   • Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstock or shortages, ensuring optimal product availability while minimizing carrying costs.
   • Collaborate with the demand planning team to forecast product demand accurately, ensuring timely replenishment.
5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
   • Work closely with quality control teams to establish and maintain strict quality standards for all procured products.
   • Ensure that all products meet regulatory and safety requirements, conducting regular audits and inspections as needed.
6. Cost Optimization:
   • Implement cost-effective procurement strategies while maintaining product quality standards.
   • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and waste reduction within the procurement process.
7. Cross-functional Collaboration:
   • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, finance, and marketing, to align procurement strategies with overall business goals.
   • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand their product needs and preferences.
8. Data Analysis and Reporting:
   • Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports to management.
   • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the procurement process and take appropriate actions.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the retail industry.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of market dynamics, pricing trends, and supply chain best practices.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office suite and procurement management systems.
