Fulltime 6 month contract, renewable
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an independent, neutral organization ensuring humanitarian protection and assistance for victims of war and armed violence. It takes action in response to emergencies and at the same time promotes respect for international humanitarian law and its implementation in national law.
Your Job (main tasks):
-Is the specialist of general purchases of goods and services (premises, stationary, printing, etc.) and occasionally handle, under the supervision of the direct supervisor, assistance, water and sanitation, medical or any other type of purchase.
-Carries out purchase on the local market in accordance with ICRC standards.
-Negotiates with suppliers the best contractual terms (price, quality, delivery and payment).
-Ensures that deliveries occur at the agreed quality, place and time.
-Ensures that purchases are carried out according to the agreed budget limits and to the specifications set by the requester.
-Follows-up and participates in negotiated solution to solve claims with/from suppliers.
-Processes invoices according to procedures in order to ensure payment in due time.
-Handles administrative process related to purchase according to financial rules.
-Ensures proper treatment and filing of all relevant documents
-Responsible for a petty cash purchase decided upon requests.
-Ensures updating of supplier’s database.
-Carries out statistics for the unit.
-As required, operates and maintains ICRC logistics standard computer systems.
-Ensures accurate transmission of information within logistics department, with superiors and with the relevant departments.
-Regularly visits and prospects new potential supplier.
Your Profile (skills & experience required):
-High school level
-2 - 3 years’ work experience in similar function
-Good knowledge of spoken English
-Good computer skills
-Good negotiation skills
