Quality and Safety Manager

The Ministry of Finance – International Relations Department (IRD) received a financing from the United States of America acting through the Department of state- INL to establish a Project Implementation Unit (PIU) in the Ministry of Finance.

PIU is a program management unit – part of Ministry of Finance/IRD – dedicated to supervise and manage US Government funded projects (The Framework Agreement). PIU is currently managing projects all over west bank areas in cooperation with Ministry of Public Works and Housing and other Palestinian Authority bodies. PIU is seeking for the following:
 

 

 

-Location : Ramallah with frequent travel in West Bank areas.

-Qualifications:
-Bachelor degree in Engineering with at least 7 years experience in a relevant field (safety and quality).
-Experience at working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
-Experience in large scale multi projects organizations
-Work experience with Donors – especially US funded projects
-Strong written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English.
-Possession of a valid driving license

-Main Duties:
-Ensure that the contractor is following the contract Quality Control Plan and reviews it.
-Report to the PIU Head or individual designated by the PIU Head.
-Determine the extent and nature of defects when discovered in the course of construction.
-Ensure sampling and testing for conformance of the materials to the Technical Specifications is carried by the contractor.
-Ensure proper sample takings and conformance testing are satisfactorily carried by the contractor for all construction work
-Ensure that public and construction site safety is in place at all times.
-Monitors that construction follows specification requirements and workmanship qualities required in the contract.
-Public and construction site safety are observed at all times and violations reported.
