Quality Control Officer
The Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) is a leading Palestinian Agricultural Development Organization that was established in 1986. Since its establishment, UAWC has been efficiently engaged in Palestinian land development, water resources & environment, poverty reduction and women empowerment, olive oil marketing, as well as other crucial rural development programs.
UAWC will be working on a high value crops with FAO coordination office for the West Bank and Gaza Strip in the implementation of the project: “Market Oriented and Sustainable High Value Crops Sector Development in the West Bank and Gaza Strip”, which is funded by the government of the Kingdom of Netherlands and will be implemented in different governorates of the West Bank and Gaza Strip (WBGS). In order to strengthen its technical team in the implementation of the project, UAWC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced applicant.
Quality Control Officer / High value crops West Bank
Description of Responsibilities:
-Conducting meetings with local community to identify pre-production Quality Evaluation
-Identify major quality characteristics prior to the start of production of any
-Preparing detailed sheets to beneficiaries, to include all the necessary information about quality characteristics
-Suggest controls and checkpoints necessary to assure that these characteristics will be met
-Set up processing specifications with limits for acceptability
-Design necessary QA paperwork needed with new products or customer requests
-Develop a system to monitor the production process, which assures that the product meets the establishment specifications.
-Assist in the development and implementation of a process audit system which tracks and reports deviations using statistical methods.
-Identify and implement process improvements that will improve quality and productivity.
-Ensure that quality control reporting and records are completed in all areas in a timely fashion
-Work to assure continued improvement of quality through communication and review of product compliance to specification
Qualifications:
Education required: Master’s degree in agricultural science chemistry or a related field.
Experience:
-Practical experience for a similar job for at least three year.
-Experience with high value crops and GLOBALG.A.P. standards
-Knowledge of ISO based quality systems.
-Experience in establishing priorities and manage multiple tasks
-Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and work independently with minimal supervision.
-Strong attention to detail, close observation and concentration skills.
-Excellent computer skills
-Experience with International development projects
-Fluency in spoken and written Arabic & English
