Radio Operator
Fulltime open-ended contract

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an independent, neutral organization ensuring humanitarian protection and assistance for victims of war and armed violence. It takes action in response to emergencies and at the same time promotes respect for international humanitarian law and its implementation in national law.
Your Job (main tasks):
-Following up telecommunications transmission activities (mobile phone, VHF/HF radio, Satellite phone, etc.)
-Ensuring radio contacts and permanent follow-up of the field movements and the teams in the field according to the guidelines, i.e. ensures contacts on departure, check points, borders and arrival and during the field trips according to the Security Rules.
-Ensuring information flow on security-related issues proactively according to the instructions
-Permanent update of field movements
-Ensure radio permanence
-Be aware of and adhere to Radio Procedure
-Organization of all movements for the staff and cars and ensures car/drivers dispatch.
-Advises team leaders about routing, contacts, appropriate channels.
-Gets information about security situation from UNDSS, PRCS radio channels, internet, TV/movements / mobiles and inform DHoSD or HoSD in case of non-regular events.
-Collects and compiles all information from the UNDSS security updates or other sources (PRCS radio channels, internet, TV/movements / mobile) in order to make the conflict charts or any other required statistics related to security

Your Profile (skills & experience required):
-High school level
-2 - 3 years work experience in similar function
-Good knowledge of spoken English
-Good computer skills
-Excellent knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
-Methodical person
