Radio Operator Supervisor

The ICRC Delegation in Israel and the Occupied Territories (IL/OT), is recruiting a talented, energetic, and engaged candidate for the following position:
Radio Operator Supervisor
Place of Employment : Jerusalem
Contract duration : 1 Year contract, renewable
Trial period : 3 months
Occupation rate : 100%
Job Grade : B2
Work Schedule : Shifting, 6000h to 1400h/1400h to 2000h
Starting Date : 01 December 2024
Main responsibilities:
Under the Security & Safety Officer, the Radio Operator Supervisor ensures the delegation’s radio room functions without interruption during the radio room working hours. S/he manages the radio operators, participates in security meetings, and plays a role in security procedures.
The Radio Operator Supervisor
- Assures that field trip forms are correctly filled, received on time, and approved.
- Informs concerned offices and colleagues about planned trips and share daily movement report.
- Uses tracking system to track field teams’ movement and follow movements via VHF/UHF communication.
- Prepares and processes messages to be sent via the SMS bulk system as requested.
- Distributes urgent, security advisories directly to the concerned colleagues.
- Conducts weekly and monthly radio checks with the head of offices and key staff members and report the results to the line manager.
- Receives, registers, and treat incoming and outgoing information confidentially, rapidly and with accuracy.
- Immediately reports security incidents to the line manager, concerned security management team or head.
- Supports in establishing/updating security situation and other security-related reports/mapping.
- Maintains security events and contact list data base, generate a daily report, and disseminate according to the procedures.
- Trains and briefs new radio operators and users about radio communication rules and procedures.
- Conveys messages from/to the radio team members from/to Safety & Security Officer or other colleagues.
- Ensures that rules are respected by the radio team such as absence requests, working hours, shifts, etc.
- Prepare the weekly roster for the Radio Room team.

Education & professional experience:
- Good command of English. Knowledge of Hebrew is an asset.
- Specialized technical certificate or non-specialized university degree.
- Confirmed technical skills in their field.
- Very good computer knowledge and ability to run specific software.
Desired profile and skills:
- Good knowledge of the country and local terrain.
- Four years of work experience in a similar field.
