Recruitment officer
GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
To support the mission by implementing effective recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring alignment with HR policies and organizational goals. The Recruitment Officer will report directly to the HR Manager to ensure sufficient follow-up and support for staffing needs.
KEY ACTIVITIES
Objective 1 - Recruitment
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
- Draft and post job advertisements on various platforms.
- Screen applications, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate further interview processes.
- Maintain a database of potential candidates and track recruitment activities.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and organizational policies.
Objective 2 – Onboarding
- Coordinate and conduct the onboarding process for new hires.
- Prepare and distribute onboarding materials.
- Ensure completion of all required paperwork and provision of necessary resources.
- Facilitate the integration of new employees into the organizational culture.
Objective 3 – Administrative duties
- Maintain accurate records of recruitment and onboarding activities.
- Prepare regular reports on recruitment metrics and onboarding progress.
- Assist in developing and updating HR policies related to recruitment and onboarding.
- Provide support in other HR functions as needed.
Objective 4 – Communication and Coordination
- Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs.
- Maintain effective communication with candidates throughout the process.
- Work closely with the HR team to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Ensure internal communication between new employees and HR procedures.
- Inform and coach managers on HR best practices.
Objective 5: Security
- Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and performs the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.
- Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan.
Objective 6: Support humanitarian activities of Action Against Hunger
- Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.
- Support any activity that helps reach our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities.
- Promote Gender Balance in teams when recruiting

- Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, or social sciences, or related discipline preferred. Post Graduate qualification in Human Resource Manager will be an added asset.
- At least 2 years of professional experience across all HR disciplines, including employment.
- Benefits, compensation, employee relations, training and development, workers compensation and conflict resolution.
- Experience working with a diverse workforce.
- Demonstrate a high level of training skills.
- Ability to communicate and perform within an international and multicultural team
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to a diverse audience.
- Plan, organize and prioritize work. Assign and supervise the work of others.
- Demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior.
- Remain flexible & adapt to changes in the work environment.
- Study and apply new information and take initiatives.
- Excellent time-management, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.
- Work accurately with close attention to detail. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with the workforce.
- Palestine Labor Law, HR Practices, tax laws
- Humanitarian sector knowledge: Prior experience working with a non-profit community services corporation a plus
- Languages: English and Arabic (Compulsory)
- IT and specific systems: Basic computer skills, including e-mail, word processing and spreadsheets. Advanced skills in Excel
