Save the Children research on the humanitarian status of displaced children and families
Save the Children is the world's leading independent organization for children. We work in almost 120 countries. We save children's lives; we fight for their rights; we help them fulfill their potential. We work to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. Across all of our work, we pursue several core values: accountability, ambition, collaboration, creativity and integrity.
Save the Children is currently seeking to contract a research agency to conduct research on the following topic:
IDP’s in the occupied Palestinian territory: from response to resolution.
The research would be assessing what kind of protection and other risks arise affecting families following displacement, the time they need to recover, their living conditions and needs, obstacles preventing their return, and how to resolve their situation based on their rights and preferences. Currently, no information exists to guide IDP responses beyond immediate emergency responses, with monitoring and response ending 60 days following a displacement event. The research would need to identify individuals or families that have been displaced, including into urban settings, and assess 1. Displacement triggers 2. Living conditions and protection issues and 3. Recovery and Resolution recommendations. Particular focus on the impact of displacement on children, disruptions in their lives, and access to social services should also be undertaken. A more extensive terms of reference is available upon request.
