The Abraham Path Initiative (API) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Masar Ibrahim/Abraham Path: Economic Development Across Fragile Communitiesproject, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for research assistance services. The consulting services (“the Services”) include general research services, assistance with data collection and analysis, field visits along the trail and in local communities, record keeping of trail participants, and research-related advice to API and API partners.

The assignment is expected to span over between August 15, 2014 and March 31, 2016 with an expected effort level of 200-250 working days.

The Abraham Path Initiative now invites eligible individual consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.

The shortlisting criteria are:
-General Qualifications
-Adequacy for the Assignment
-Relevant Experience.

Candidate requirements include
-University degree in a relevant field (research, development, community-based tourism, economics, etc.)
-Fluency in English
-Ability to travel in Jerusalem and all areas of the West Bank.
-Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in research gathering and be able to use various computer programs to record, organize, and report on data.

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’sGuidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers January 2011 (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
