Researcher in Admission Standards

Hebron University has received a Grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) – Ministry of
Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank for the project entitled: «Improving
the Quality of Education Programs for Higher Basic Stage – Social Sciences Major”. The Grant aims
at developing the social science teacher preparation programs for the higher education basic level
(Grades 5-10) at Hebron University, An-Najah University, Bethlehem University, and Al Quds University to better comply with the requirements of the Teacher Education Strategy.

Assignment Objective
Assign a highly qualified researcher to assist in reviewing and Analysis the Admission Criteria for
the Social Sciences Program . The assignment will be delivered in cooperation with the International
Consultant under the supervision of the Project Director and the Project Steering Committee.
By developing the research and outcomes, a special attention should be given to the MOHE& each
universities’ standardsin admission rules and policies.

Main Task and Responsibilities:
2-Review all admission criteria that been in use in universities (Hebron University, Bethlehem University, AL Quds University and An-Najah University).
3-Prioritize these criteria according to their effectiveness and usage
4-Give an indications on the effects of each used criteria
5-Give and propose criteria of admission to be used in accepting students
2-Deliverables
1-Submit literature review and studies- 3 weeks
2-Conduct interviews and administer the questionnaire- 3 weeks
3-Submit an initial report -2 weeks
4-Discuss the initial report with the steering committee
5-Submit the full report ( in three months from signing the contract)
3-Qualifications & Skills:

Hebron University seeks a consultant with the minimum following qualifications:

-Familiar with the Palestinian education system and Engaged in developing or admitting students
at university level
-Master in Education, administration Development Planning, or Social sciences. PHD is preferable.
-Experiences in :
-Evaluating any admission criteria
-Evaluating and assessing the characteristics of graduate students
-Evaluating the effectiveness of an undergraduate program/s
-Teaching experiences at university level Good communication and writing skills in English and Arabic.
-Excellent Computer skills
-The consultant cannot be on the Palestinian Hebron University payroll

Time Frame: Two to Three months
Contract Type: Lump Sum contract
