Mercy Corps (MC) is a nonprofit international relief and development organization working in 41 countries. Mercy Corps has had a presence in the West Bank and Gaza since the 1980s, helping Palestinians meet their immediate needs for survival and find durable solutions to chronic problems. With offices in East Jerusalem, Ramallah and Gaza City, Mercy Corps implements programs throughout the Palestinian territories.
MC is implementing an Economic Development project under the broader Palestinian Community Assistance Program (PCAP) funded by USAID. PCAP’s Economic Development program works in several sectors of Gaza’s local economy, and assists young people to prepare for work. Under the PCAP, MC will conduct Fresh Graduate Engineers Qualifying Training for 30 Gazans in partnership with Palestinian Contractors Union (PCU).
MC seeks the services of an Individual or firms Consultant to develop operating guidelines, curricula and training material for the training. The main focus of the consultancy will be to outline good training procedures & practices and training curricula and training material that will combine theory and practice, qualifying the trainees to carry out site engineers tasks on industry work sites.
RFP Collection dates: Consultants can start collecting the RFP from 18 April 2013up to 22 April 2013 during working hours from 08:00am up to 04:00pm from Sunday to Thursday
Deadline for Questions: Consultants can send their questions about the RFP to the following email address [email protected] not later than 22 April 2013 by maximum 04:00pm.
Closing date of application: 30 April 2013no later than 3:00pm
Qualifications Required:
Individuals or Firms are welcome to respond. The Curriculum Consultant should possess, in order of importance:
1-An academic degree in Civil Engineering. Master’s degree or higher is an advantage.
2-Understanding of adult learning processes and training methodologies.
3-Clear understanding of the construction/contracting sector and in education/ training systems on the Gaza Strip context.
4-At least 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in engineering education, preferably in adult’s education.
5-At least 5 years of progressive, practical experience in the construction industry, including training experience.
The total anticipated implementation/delivery is 4weeks, including submission of the final documents. Implementation of this activity should be completed maximum by June 15, 2013.
