Sales/Marketing Officer

Duration: 1 year (with the possibility of extension)
Job Location: Jericho and travelling in the West Bank
Direct Supervisor: Production Manager (in Jericho) and Business Development and Economic Policy Advisor (in Ramallah)

JOB CONTEXT
With the support of some local and international partners, the YWCA of Palestine set up two income-generating projects targeting unemployed and/or marginalized women living in Jericho (surrounding areas and the Aqbet Jaber refugee camp) and Ramallah (Jalazoune refugee camp) where women are employed on a full-time basis in a production unit under the supervision of the YWCA Local Boards. Moreover, the YWCA has just launched a new program in women-led small-scale entrepreneurship development, targeting young and/or marginalized women.

The YWCA-Jericho and the YWCA-Ramallah are now seeking to hire  qualified and motivated person who will:
-Support the production units, identify products to be produced, reach new markets;
-Define and/or improve marketing strategy and tools (catalogues and informative material, labeling, packaging, etc.) with the objective of increasing sales and profitability;
-Under the newly launched YWCA’s women entrepreneurship development program, both in Jericho and Ramallah, assess market demand and provide recommendations to start up new potential smallscale women’s enterprises; and support these enterprises in reaching markets and conducting marketing activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
-Minimum Bachelor degree in business management or marketing (or other related field);
-Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in marketing; a working experience in the food industry is an asset;
-Knowledge and experience in marketing planning;
-Excellent communication skills and team work;
-Driving license and vehicle;
-Ability to set high-level goals and work under pressure;
-Commitment to work towards the promotion of gender equality and other YWCA’s core values.
