Save the Children, as a non-profit U.S based development organization, has been working in the West Bank and Gaza since 1973. Save the Children (SC) concentrates on enhancing health, educational, psychosocial, food security, and economic opportunities in order to achieve its mission to create lasting, positive change in the lives of children.

S/he will help to ensure that the various support functions that enable the CO’s mission and objectives to be met are carried out in a timely and professional manner; and that CO’s Financial, Administrative and HR Policies and Procedures are implemented effectively and efficiently. S/he has overall day-to-day management responsibility for the administrative and financial functions and staff of the “Finance/Admin Department”, which includes Finance, General Administration, Human Resource Management, Procurement/Logistics, and IT. S/he reports to the Country Director. Regular and consistent coordination and teamwork with other senior positions and managers, in the Country Office and the field offices, is also essential. The Operations Director must work closely with sub-office Operations Managers to ensure that finance and administration functions are implemented effectively at that level. The position is based in the Ramallah office, and requires frequent visits to the Jerusalem, Nablus, Halhoul, and Gaza offices with additional travel and over-time work as required.
Personnel Requirements
- A bachelor degree in accounting or related subject. Masters degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the field of finance/admin work
- Minimum of five years experience in managing a finance/admin department
-Familiarity with local laws and different international donors policies and regulations
- Proven leadership, representational, interpersonal, and supervisory skills;
- Strong English and Arabic spoken and written communication skills; and ability to generate reports and other written documents
- Experience working with international and local partners; experience in a large complex organization
- Demonstrated excellent team-work and team-building skills
- Computer skills
- A valid driving license
- Ability to travel in the West Bank and Gaza, and internationally
