Job Opportunity / Project Coordinator
Save the Children Sweden (SCS), active in the occupied Palestinian territory since 1997,
works to ensure children’s rights to education and protection. SC vision is a world in
which all children’s rights are fulfilled – a world that respects and values each child, a
world where all children participate and have influence, a world where all children have
hope and opportunity. SCS seeks a Project Coordinator to be part of the provision of support to actions aimed at preventing harm to children affected by armed conflict and at fighting against child trafficking and rehabilitating victims. She / he will contribute to the enhancement of the impact of SCS’s programme on children rights in oPt and the region, and strengthening and developing partnership in order to achieve long lasting positive change for children.

Job Title: Project Coordinator
Project: “Protecting the rights of Palestinian children affected by armed conflicts through community-based mechanism in the Gaza Strip and North Lebanon”, funded by European Commission (EC)
Location: Gaza Strip
Contract: Two years with possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and oversee project management functions including the identification of key experts, organizing and sound follow-up on a different array of training sessions and workshops
• Ensure that appropriate project policies, practices and systems are in place
• Collaborate closely with project partners and local communities and assess capacity building needs among partners on certain thematic areas and develop plans accordingly
• Work closely with project partners to develop implementation plans, worksheets, and reports
• Conduct monitoring visits for on going activities
• Develop and maintain sound partner relationships with project beneficiaries through regular visits, continuous follow up, technical support and representation
• Prepare monthly, annual and end-of-project narrative reports
• Compile and submit monthly indicators from the project partners in accordance with the UN Convention on the rights of the Child (UN CRC) and UN Security Council Resolution 1612 (UN SC Res. 1612)
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Human Rights Studies, Law studies, or relevant fields
• Requires a minimum of three years relevant experience in advocacy and child rights, a
minimum of one year of which must have been in a supervisory role
• Demonstrated experience in project management: planning, monitoring and evaluation
• Fluent English is a must
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate leadership skills, initiative, and a sincere commitment to team work
• Committed to the values and principles of Save the Children Sweden
