AMIDEAST seeks a full-time Scholarship Assistant to work with existing staff within the
Palestinian Faculty Development Program (PFDP). The Assistant will provide support to
the Gaza Program Officer in the implementation of a local scholarship program for undergraduate students. The position is full-time for one year with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities include the following:
-Gather information from primary university data and supporting documents provided;
-Prepare vetting request forms and a chart which details submission date and approval/
refusal date;
- Assist in maintain students’ records on program database;
- Assist in the selection of scholarship recipients;
- Participate in strategy discussions relating to selection and recruitment;
-Conduct frequent visits to target Palestinian universities in Gaza;
- Assist the rest of the PFDP staff in implementation of other PFDP components;
- Perform other duties as determined by the COP.
Applicants should have the following credentials and experience:
- Bachelors degree, preferably in the social sciences or humanities;
- 2-3 years of administrative experience in project implementation;
- Fluency in Arabic and English;
-Proven communication skills and strong English writing skills;
- Excellent team work skills;
- Experience working on a donor-funded project, preferably USAID;
- Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel mandatory;
-Ability to manage multiple tasks with ease.
