Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions to be based at the Ramallah -WB office.
School Improvement Program Extracurricular Activities Manager
Purpose of this position:
To provide technical and managerial support for the successful implementation of the USAID Funded School Improvement Program (SIP) extracurricular activities component ensuring successful, quality and timely accomplishment of program activities in compliance with SCI and USAID policies and regulations.
Summary of the position’s key areas of accountability:
Presentation:
In close coordination with CoP, SCI and inline with the communication plan will present the project to donors, MoE, community partners and stakeholders.
Program Management:
will serve as member of the project management team, lead the team (direct reports) working closely with the AMIDEAST Team and the CoP to develop needed detailed implementation plans, procurement plans, M&E, assessments, baselines/surveys, communities and school selection and needed project reports. Provide needed technical and programmatic feedback as needed/requested by the CoP, provide day to day support and direction to direct reports and ensure progress, quality and synergy in the overall program operations and team. Provide monitoring and filed visits to project site and activities and ensure compliance with child safeguarding policy, beneficiary satisfaction and support in coordinating complex events.
Provide regular updates to supervisor and SCI education department about the program including data, lessons learned, best practices Work closely with procurement and compliance and finance unit for all related project needs and ensure compliance with SCI standard policies and procedures. Participate in SCI annual planning and strategic planning workshop and education working group and essential trainings identified by SCI.
Project Team management and leadership:
Provide leadership andmanagement to sub-ordinates ensure that they have clear objectives and
receive meaningful feedback on their performance regularly. Ensuring quality performance and staff wellbeing. Conduct regular performance review, train and coach staff as needed and ensure coherent and integration with SIP team.
Comply with all relevant SCI policies and procedures with respect to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies
Starting Date: April 1st, 2013
Contract duration: 4 years pending annual obligations and funds availability.
Specific Qualification and Experinece required: (Please see the general skills and qualification too) Please see the general too)
-Bachelor or Masters in education, international development accompanied with relevant experience in programming and managing multi-million, multiyear education programs.
-10 years of experience in development with at least 7 years in a management role.
-Previous experience working on USAID funded grants required.

-Ability to contribute to a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support and advice as necessary.

-A full appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a team environment.
-Understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and a commitment to its
objectives.
-Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic required.
