Juzoor is a leading Palestinian NGO dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Palestinian families and promoting health rights in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza. 2. Background:
Juzoor seeks the professional services of a Senior Accountant, responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with donor and organizational financial policies, and supporting the Administration and Finance Director in financial reporting and audits. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in budget management, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is someone with strong accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

4. Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place to maintain accountability of expenditures.
- Oversee financial transactions, ensuring proper authorization, recording, and documentation.
- Monitor budgets and expenditures and contribute to the preparation and revision of budgets.
- Ensure Juzoor’s financial books comply with relevant accounting and procurement standards.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial reports for management and donors.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with audit recommendations.
- Verify procurement processes and expenditures for compliance with financial policies.
- Monitor cash flows and ensure timely disbursement of funds.
- Coordinate with donor finance focal points on project-related financial matters.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of daily financial transactions.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Update internal financial systems and maintain ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in budget development and financial planning.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of all financial transactions.
- Implement financial policies and improve internal financial controls.
- Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
5. Level of Responsibility:
- Expected to work independently and take initiative in financial management tasks.
- Responsible for problem-solving and financial reporting.
- Direct Supervisor: Administration and Finance Director.
6. Experience Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Financial Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of three to five years of experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing in an NGO or private sector.
- CPA, CMA, or other professional financial certification is an asset.
- Experience with donor-funded projects and international financial regulations is an advantage.
7. Job Skills Required:
- Strong accounting and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of international and local financial standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Bisan ERP).
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Language Requirement: Fluency in Arabic and working knowledge of English.
