Overview:

A Palestinian group conglomerate of companies is looking for a Senior HR manager to oversee the HR functions in the companies and take successful models and apply to the group as suited. The group is seeking to establish shared HR policies, procedures and culture to promote and solidify a unified identity.

Job Brief:

The Senior HR Manager’s responsibilities include overseeing employee relations, talent development and community work life by designing company policies and setting objectives for the HR teams of the different companies. However, this position will be focused more on human development rather than administration, though both will be under the HR department umbrella. Ultimately, this hire will ensure that the companies attract, hire, develop and retain qualified employees.

Responsibilities:

Employee Relations: Assists employees and managers with a variety of workplace issues, including job performance and conduct concerns. Creates an inclusive, productive and efficient work environment free from discrimination and harassment. Some tasks include:

  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the group
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Develop and adjust policies in group and tailor policies to individual companies
  • Audit companies to access all positive working HR methods to possibly adopt throughout group
  • Assess current structure efficiency and create reporting system along with clear job descriptions for all
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues by creating investigation process
  • Provide confidential coaching sessions to employees on career path or internal relations
  • Work closely with administration on reward systems, on-boarding, off-boarding and disciplinary action
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates and cost-per-hire)
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management

Talent Development: Assists employees and managers with a variety of professional development opportunities including policy training and skills training (leadership, coaching, communication). Some tasks include:

  • Work with managers of companies and conduct surveys to assess training needs
  • Finds trainers both internal and external, local and international to conduct sessions
  • Creating required staff training menu and monitor training programs
  • Ensure goal setting, performance review and appraisals
  • Conduct assessments to determine if talent is being fully utilized and if employees are in the right space
  • Work on recruitment, talent attraction, selection and interviewing process

Community and Work Life: Provides employees and managers with opportunities to create community and a sense of belonging to their company and the whole group. Some tasks include:

  • Adjusting policies related to family life, student life, political situations and work life balance
  • Facilitating committees of interest groups and taking ideas from employees into consideration to promote innovation
  • Creating employee and company recognition initiatives
  • Creating motivational activities like staff appreciation week
  • Identify and showcase the benefits of being in an ecosystem and utilizing a big group by creating community spaces, events and cross committees
  • Creating an environment and employee life that speaks for itself and attracts the best talent

متطلبات الوظيفة

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience as HR manager or other HR executive
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Degree, certificate, and or experience in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology or Business is a plus
