The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from
qualified candidates for the post of:

Senior Medical Officer

1-Vacancy No. : 047/2013/X
2-Duty Station : Field Office Jerusalem
3-Department : Health Department
4-Basic Salary : 981.0 JD that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency. Other fringe benefits include provident fund & health insurance.
5-Allowances : Family Allowances payable up to 7 children and spouse. An allowance of 1000 NIS payable in JD at UNRWA rate 9% of the basic salary as Supplementary Allowance25% of the basic salary as Senior Professional Officer Allowance
 

6-Qualifications:
-A medical degree from a recognized university including an internship of at least twelve months duration.
-A valid governmental license to practice medicine in the country of duty station.
-At least five years of satisfactory professional working experience three of which at least should have been with public health services, preferably with the Agency.
-Good command of spoken and written English.

Competencies
-Ability to work under pressure and cope with heavy workload.
-Excellent computer skills.
-Excellent organizational and communication skills.
-Self-motivated.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
-Post-graduate degree or diploma in public health or other related disciplines.
-Skill in use of computers for epidemiological applications.
