 The IRC is continuing to scale up programming in the West Bank and Gaza working closely with partners and implementing directly in health and nutrition, protection, WASH, early childhood development, food security, and cash programming to meet the most critical humanitarian needs.

 
Program Brief
The IRC’s educational interventions strive to help children and adolescents gain valuable skills and knowledge that will increase their opportunities and life chances through supporting in their well-being, development and livelihood. The IRC supports formal and non-formal learning activities that lead to tangible learning outcomes in literacy, numeracy, socio-emotional learning, and marketable skills and promotes the protection and psychosocial well-being of conflict-affected children and youth.
 
The education program focuses on supporting the healthy development and wellbeing of children and caregivers, and mitigation of learning loss through play-infused activities that promote socio-emotional learning, literacy and numeracy skills building, improving the safety, wellbeing and mental health of children and adolescents through MHPSS and individual protection support, and enhance the wellbeing and stress management of the caregivers through integrated awareness and support sessions.
 
 
Position Overview
Under the supervision of the EiE/ECD Coordinator, the Senior Officer-Education will be responsible for supporting field-level activities in Gaza/WB with close communication with partner staff focusing on activity monitoring, procurement and partner support identifying partner staff needs on capacity building, tools development, support with training, and facilitation on the ground. This position will be responsible for the project-related documentation process i.e. module development, case study/success story collection and regular reporting of the field-level activities. As a team member of the education program, this position will also closely work with the other IRC program team and implementing partners to foster quality program implementation on the ground, and represent IRC education program in sector meetings, sub-cluster groups to ensure effective collaboration with local NGOs, INGOs, UN entities and local government structures.
 
Job Responsibilities
 
• Work closely with partners to ensure coordinated and comprehensive service delivery.
• Support the implementation of education activities in Gaza and the West Bank, ensuring alignment with program goals and workplans.
• Conduct regular monitoring of field-level activities, provide feedback to partner staff, and identify challenges for timely resolution for teachers and facilitators.
• Ensure the documentation of project progress, including success stories, case studies, and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with implementing partners to assess the capacity needs of teachers and facilitators and develop targeted training sessions and on job support for partner staff.
• Contribute to the development of modules, training materials, and knowledge-sharing resources.
• Assist IRC program team and MEAL team in developing and adapting tools and materials to enhance the quality of program delivery.
• Support MEAL team with the establishment of client feedback mechanisms to improve program responsiveness and quality.
• Provide hands-on guidance and facilitation support to partners staff during field visits, training sessions, and activity implementation.
• Support the procurement process by ensuring timely identification of required materials, availability and appropriateness in the changing context of Gaza and West Bank.
• Monitor the distribution of age-appropriate play and teaching-learning materials and proper use of resources to ensure timely and quality program delivery.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration with IRC’s internal program teams including Child Protection and Women’s Protection and Empowerment, Health, Nutrition and WASH teams to ensure holistic support for the children and caregivers.
• Represent the education program in sector meetings, sub-clusters, and working groups to strengthen collaboration with local NGOs, INGOs, UN agencies, and government structures.
• Ensure timely submission of field-visit reports and activity reports to ensure alignment with program requirements.
• Support the EiE/ECD Coordinator in preparing donor reports, presentations, and program briefs as needed.
• Ensure adherence to IRC’s safeguarding policies and promote ethical practices in program implementation.
 
Other Duties
• Ensure adherence to IRC Safety and security SOPs, promptly reporting concerns or incidents to management, and when liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs.
• Other duties assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs.

Requirements
 
• Minimum a bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Science, Development Studies or any other relevant subject. 
• At least 2 years of working experience in Education programming in across Palestine with NGO/INGO.
• Ability to work in stressful environments.
• Competency in literacy, numeracy, and play based early learning methods for children.
• Experience developing training materials and facilitating workshops and training.
• Experience developing low/no-cost play materials is a plus.
• Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
• Sound knowledge on MS office (word, excel, power point etc.) and basic computer skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills.
• Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people.
• Ability to travel with in area when necessary.
