Senior Project Officer (SPO)

Catholic Relief Services is an international aid agency and has been present in the Jerusalem, West Bank, and Gaza for over 60 years. The CRS JWBG country program currently supports development/relief programs and activities in the sectors of humanitarian assistance, youth development, education, and peace & justice. 

Position Title:  Senior Project Officer (SPO)
Reports to:  Field Manager (FM)
Supervisory Responsibilities: Project Officers

Job Summary:

The Senior Project Officer (SPO) will assume responsibility for working with the local partners in support of the Gaza Emergency and Recovery Project.  Under the supervision and guidance of the Field Manager and in close cooperation with other staff working on this project, the SPO will be responsible for grant-related planning and implementation, timely and accurate reporting to FM, and representing the project to various stakeholders in Gaza Strip.  The SPO will organize and oversee the implementation of the project and providing technical support to local implementing partners (sub-awardees).  The SPO will work as part of the project management team led by the Head of Office and Field Manager in Gaza, maintaining relationships with the other program staff and partners coordinators.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

1-Graduate degree in international relations, social sciences or related field. 
2-Minimum of three years work experience in development and/or emergency programs, including here experience with rehabilitation and emergency programming.
3-Demonstrated experience in community mobilization, organization and mediation among local actors, preferably proven experience with USG projects.
4-Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and the appropriate local language
5-Strong cross-cultural skills and experience working with people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds
6-Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel)
