Job Summary: 

Turquoise Mountain is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2006 to preserve heritage crafts. We work in Palestine, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Myanmar with artisans whose crafts are critically endangered. 

Turquoise Mountain in Palestine is looking for a devoted sales assistant to run our new showroom on Star Street. The perfect candidate will handle day to day tasks related to the showroom, support in running sales events, and collaborate with other teams like the communications department and the design and production team. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Meet and greet visitors and clients at the showroom. 
  • Arrange display of items and replenishment of products. 
  • Understand the products on display and their origin including craft practice, materials, care instructions and durability and communicate that to the visitors in a professional manner. 
  • Provide recommendation for product display and arrange for regular new showroom layouts. 
  • Handle payments, issue invoices and price quotations. 
  • Arrange for depositing cash revenue in bank in coordination with Finance department. 
  • Manage in store and after sale relationship with customers. 
  • Communicate inquiries received from customers to relevant team members in other departments. 
  • Follow up on orders received from online webstore and prepare them for customers either to pick up or deliver. 
  • Create daily & monthly sales reports. 
  • Assist in packaging and wrapping products for export and local sales.
  • Receive products from suppliers and artisans with the logistics officer and perform quality control before reception. 
  • Assist in handling and planning events related to the showroom. 
  • Assist the direct manager in planning for trade shows and exhibitions that the organization participates in, locally and internationally. 
  • Handle the quarterly inventory stock count with the Finance team. 
  • Follow up with colleagues regarding the organization’s online webstore starting with listing products, controlling stock levels online, fix stock levels as per our QuickBooks on a weekly basis. 
  • Perform a monthly stock count with and report back to the direct manager to communicate to the finance team. 

Contract Duration: 

Part time contract, 3 days per week (Thursday, Saturday, Monday, 9am – 5pm, unless otherwise requested and agreed.

متطلبات الوظيفة

Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of one-year of experience in retail and sales 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Arabic 
  • Experience in cultural heritage is preferred. 
  • Experience in home & décor retail is preferred

Star Street, Bethlehem, Palestine
