Site Engineer

Job summary:
Life and Hope Association - LHA has received a grant to Construction of Two Additional Floors for the Citizen’s Inclusive Hub Community Center project through United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) – Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People submission to the Investment Programme for Resilience (Phase I), funded by the Government of Germany through its Development Bank (KFW) and implemented by UNDP’s Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (UNDP\PAPP).
LHA is recruiting candidates for the following position:
Position Title: Site Engineer (SE) - Full Time
No. of available positions: ( 1 )
Place: LHA Office, Jabalia
Period: 6 Months
Start Date: As soon as possible
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising directly the construction work on site including all tests, inspections.
- Supervise all project works and ensure that all are done as per technical specification and engineering drawings.
- Timely Fill the online matrix, reports, photos and all required information on website.
- Conducting on-site observations of the work in progress and direct the Contractor on necessary measures which would avoid possible risks affecting the safety of people and properties in the vicinity.
- Check the Contractor’s works and notify the Contractor of any defects found with regards to the quality of the workmanship or materials and equipment incorporated in the project, including those found in performing the required sampling and testing.
- Review the Contractor’s work schedules and updates thereof; closely monitor the work progress and budget utilization to ensure compliance with the project duration and cost.
- Participate in the committee for final inspection and handover of the construction / rehabilitation works and prepare snag-lists for final checking prior to project handover.
- Ensure safety and security standards of construction and rehabilitation activities.
- Support the dissemination of the LHA Safeguarding Policy & Code of Conduct and Ethics to staff members, project beneficiaries, employers, service providers, and relevant community members, including mechanisms to safely make reports or provide feedback and ensure compliance with this policy and immediately notify supervisor of any concerns.
- Review the contractor’s daily reports and prepare monthly progress reports.
- Perform any other tasks and duties as necessary throughout the life of the project.

- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering.
- Eight years of professional experience in similar project.
- Work experience in constructions and building projects.
- Knowledge of donor’s regulations and compliance.
- Good writing and communication skills in both English and Arabic.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
- A resident of North Gaza or Gaza governorate.
