The Abraham Path Initiative has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Masar Ibrahim/Abraham Path: Economic Development Across Fragile Communitiesproject, and intends to apply part of the funds for consulting services in community-based tourism research. The consulting services (“the Services”) include Research and Writing services for use in a series of Research Notes. Responsibilities for the position will include: writing one research paper on “Measuring Social Cohesion on the Abraham Path” for the Action Research Component of the Economic Development Across Fragile Communities grant, which will be published by the Abraham Path Initiative.
The assignment is expected to span over a four-month period, beginning as soon as possible and ending latest in June 1st, 2015, with an expected effort level of 15-25 days over the course of the contract.
The Abraham Path Initiative now invites eligible individual consultants (“Consultants”), with expertise in sociology, economics, psychology, or other relevant social sciences to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are: General Qualifications, Adequacy for the Assignment, and Relevant Experience. Candidate requirements include fluency in English and Arabic, strong English writing skills and ability to travel in West Bank.
The Social Cohesion Research Consultant candidates should have an advanced degree in social sciences and research experience in or related to social cohesion.
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
The Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultant method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.
