Social Worker

Médecins du Monde (MDM) France is an International Medical Organization, which has been present in the Palestinian Territories since 1995. It operates in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank through offices located in Jerusalem, Gaza and Nablus.

Within the frame of the emergency response project, the Health Voucher Officer is in charge to implement the Cash based intervention (CBI) activity, facilitating access to health and hygiene items through pharmacy and/or supermarket vouchers.
MDM is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of:


2 Social Worker, Gaza Base (1 Position)


Starting date: September 7th, 2014
Duration: 1 service Contract, 1 month and a half

I. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Support in identifying vulnerable targets within internal displaced people ( IDPs) based on MDM-F identified selection criteria
Responsible for data collection and data entry for needed information based on designed data base
Responsible for data analysis and reporting on needed information
Participate in the organization and performance of participatory discussion sessions on protection at community level.
Coordination and communication with local communities, beneficiaries and stakeholders when needed including suppliers

II. REQUIRMENTS
University degree preferably in Social Work, sociology or any other related fields
Experience in social work
Experience in preparing and designing questionnaires
Experience in conducting assessments and interviews and story collection
Skills in monitoring, reporting and following up of cases on the ground
A good command of spoken and written English
High skills in data entry management and analysis of data using Excel
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team
