Job title : Social Worker

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, inform them about how HPSS functions
• Provide Psychological First Aid.
• Fill in the First Individual Assessment Form.
• In case of emergency, carry out first aid care and treatment according to prior written protocol done by the HPSS.
• Participate to the different workshops or activities in collaboration with the health promoter officer
• Participate to the organization of therapeutic education sessions with the counsellor educator in IPD
• Participate to prepare the patients for their hospitalization in Amman or in IPD
• Take the parent’s authorization for minors.
• Know how to recognize signs of stressors.
• Ensure, maintain and promote confidentiality regarding all information registered.
• Ensure the confidentiality of the beneficiaries.
• Respect medical privacy and confidential environment.
• Provide information to the vulnerable groups on psychosocial needs and services available in Gaza.
• Maintain registers and files updated.
• Participate actively in the monitoring and the reporting of activities (correctly fill in patient files, forms, data collection).
• Participate to the HPSS team meeting for exchanging information.

Education

Desirable degree in social work.

Experience

Two years minimum in a similar social job; experience with MSF or other NGOs, desirable.

Languages                         

Essential, local language; mission language will be a plus.
