Position:Software Development Engineer, DevOps - Full Time, Ramallah - West Bank Palestine

While 90% of everything we eat, wear or use is shipped by the trillion dollar freight industry, freight sales technology is stuck in the ‘90s, lacking online automation and pricing transparency. Freightos is automating online freight sales, with proven startup success and world-class investors. Freightos is already helping some of the world’s biggest freight companies automate their operations. We’re looking for a Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer to join our team in Ramallah.

Our DevOps Team aggressively tackles issues impacting our customers’ experience or the reliability of our systems. A DevOps Software Engineer leads our continuous improvement efforts to eliminate code defects. Our engineers, not only diagnose and resolve customer issues and identify root causes, but also drive changes to our processes and methodologies. DevOps engineers solve complex problems and help us scale our services and maintain our software compliance requirements.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to every part of the development and deployment cycle including design, workload estimation, prioritization, documentation, integration and testing. The successful candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must be detailed oriented, self-driven, and efficient. The candidate must have a track record of troubleshooting and solving complex problems.

We're looking for engineers who can get things done in half, or less, the time it takes an average engineer in the industry. Our new hires are expected to help, collaborate and add value quickly while working with our current engineers. We work, and expect new hires as well, to work under tight schedules, deadlines and conflicting priorities.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
-Excellent programming skills in Java or an OO programing language, 2+ years.
-Excellent Computer Science fundamentals, object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
-Excellent communication, self-organization, time management and interpersonal skills.
-Must be a fluent bilingual (Arabic and English) with excellent reading, speaking and writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Good knowledge in a scripting language.
-Knowledge of Google/AWS cloud infrastructure (load balancers, storage and databases)
-Prior work with monitoring tools
-Experience designing tools to automate operational processes.
