The Four Homes of Mercy of the Arab Orthodox Invalids Home Charitable Society is a non-profit organization, which seeks, through the provision of specialized services, to meet the needs of people of complex neurological disabilities resulting from damage to the brain or nervous system.

Believing that all people with disabilities should have the opportunity to enjoy an optimal quality of life, it also works with other individuals and organizations to improve professional knowledge and skills and to raise awareness of disability issues.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate, proficient and dedicated Speech Pathologist to join our team on a full-time basis and deliver exceptional care to our residents based in the Homes at Al-Eizariyeh. The Speech Pathologist will work directly with the residents, understand their unique needs, assess their conditions, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides therapy to address speech disorders. 

Speech Pathologist Responsibilities:

• Performing screenings, diagnosing and evaluating residents ‘conditions to detect voice, speech or swallowing disorders.
• Creating and implementing customized and comprehensive treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs and enhance speech skills of the residents at the Homes, including the teaching of simple signs to some of the residents as needed
• Engaging with the residents’ families, educate them about speech disorders and coordinate treatment plans with them where relevant.
• Maintaining updated and detailed records/documents/information related to the residents’ conditions, care plans and therapeutic interventions.
• Monitoring progress and report status to appropriate parties, which may include the Home’s management, family members, Board Members, medical professionals and others as needed.
• Collaborating with other interdisciplinary teams at the Homes to contribute to the improvement of communication abilities and overall quality of life for our residents.
• Any other additional tasks as required.

Speech Pathologist Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in speech pathology or any other related fields.
• At least 3 years proven work experience as a Speech Pathologist or similar role.
• Experience in working with people with disabilities from different age groups.
• Strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes and treatments.
• Excellent coaching, verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers, especially patient and healthcare databases.
