SRH ADVISOR
Founded in 1993, Médecins du Monde Switzerland is a medical association of international solidarity that is part of the Médecins du Monde network. We provide sustainable access to health care for people in vulnerable situations in Switzerland and around the world.
MdM Switzerland, has been working in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) since 1994 in the sector of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), implementing emergency and development interventions, focusing on victim of occupation-related violence, children and detention, suicide prevention and management, strengthen of access to mental health cares at national and community level, and advocacy initiative.
Duty station: Ramallah with frequent visits to Bethlehem and Gaza if the security situation allows
Main purpose:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, the SRH Advisor will be responsible of the quality of SRHR programmes implemented in the mission
Specific objectives:
- Be responsible for the strategy, quality, and relevance of SRHR programmes
- Advise and monitor the quality and the impact of SRH interventions
- Develop and/or adapt guidelines, protocols, SOPs
- Identify training needs, develop training material facilitate training sessions
- Create and disseminate tools, guidelines and training and awareness-raising materials.
- Identify national and regional actors in the theme and leading the relevant network.
- Make recommendations and proposals to modify and adapt activities and identify opportunities to develop new activities.
- SRHR data and context monitoring and analysis at national and regional level.
- Design and conduct SRHR needs assessments, including secondary data review, primary data collection and analysis and reporting, including to identify priority areas and gaps in SRH services.
- Design evaluations to assess the impact of SRHR programs
- Contribute to writing SRH components of draft projects and donor reports.
- Participate in the strategy development of the mission.
- Represent MdM and ensure good relations are maintained and developed with stakeholders consistent with the principles of neutrality and independence of MDM, including local and national authorities, clusters and other NGOs.
- Attend coordination meetings on relevant SRH matters or any external meetings delegated by the Programme Coordinator.
- Promote the fruitful and smooth coordination with the other MdM chapters in oPt, by working on ongoing and new projects, SRH harmonized tools and SOPs, building up and implementing a common SRH strategy, in close coordination with the Programme Coordination
- Support the design and planning of activities and the writing of activity reports, capitalization reports, summaries, etc.
- Analyze activity reports from MdM and/or partner teams.
- Contribute towards advocacy work.Ensure the adherence to MdM CH SRHR strategy at the mission level
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Security
- Apply and respect MDM security rules in the mission.
- Participation in the daily security meetings and respect of the security rules set up according to the context are mandatory.
Other
- To maintain good socio-professional relationships with national and international partners.
- To attend team meetings and to give qualitative input.
- If necessary, participate in emergency plans with the MDM-CH team.
- Perform any other additional duty on request of his/her supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- At least 5 years of experience in SRHR and/or in similar positions.
- Degree in the medical field (MD, midwife, nurse)
- Master’s degree in public health and master/diploma in sexual and reproductive health.
- Working experience within the Humanitarian Sector and INGOs
- Knowledge of MISP for SRHR in crisis
- Demonstrated experience in delivering training sessions and capacity building activities
- Experience working with adolescents and youth-friendly approaches is an asset
- Training and/or experience in Gender approach is an asset
- Ability to work under pressure in an unstable and changing environment.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office.
- Driver license is an asset.
- Good skills in writing and designing proposals.
- Good communication skills.
- English proficiency.
- Leadership, diplomatic and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in team.
- Understand and analyse a health context, health problems and data
- Proactivity and strong aptitude to look for innovative solutions and initiatives.
- Very strong independence and autonomy to self-organize and achieve tasks and priorities.
CONDITIONS:
- The position is based in Ramallah with frequent visits to Bethlehem and Gaza if the security situation allows
- Working Hours: Standard office working hours from Sunday to Thursday.
