I-Background on ACTED

ACTED is an international NGO registered in France. ACTED’s vocation is to support vulnerable populations affected by wars, natural disasters and/or economic and social crises, and to accompany them in building a better future. ACTED started its activities in the occupied Palestinian territory in May 2007, through food security interventions in the West Bank and then in Gaza. ACTED is currently implementing projects funded among others by ECHO, OCHA, EU Member States and EuropeAid, which aim to protect vulnerable households in the West Bank and Gaza and to strengthen civil society actors across the occupied Palestinian territory.

 

II-Country Profile

In the occupied Palestinian territory, ACTED is both committed to humanitarian assistance and long-term development. ACTED strives to strengthen the economic capacities of cooperatives in rural areas, consolidate civil society organisations, and provide emergency assistance to the most vulnerable, rural communities in the West Bank and Gaza. ACTED currently seeks a Stock Officer for its operations in Gaza.

III-Responsibilities

  1. Coordination
    • Coordinating on daily basis with the Country Logistics Officer to receive Service Request Form (SRF) and Release Order Form (ROF), involving access to network.
    • Coordinating with the Stock Keeper on upcoming operation: truck arrival for off-loading and storage, truck arrival for loading.
    • Coordinating with Program Team for distribution of Acted items.
    • Coordinating with truck drivers or INGO representative on trucks arrival
  1. Warehouse Management
    • Equipping the warehouse to efficiently conduct operations, following Acted procedures.
    • Defining efficiently warehouse layout (offloading area, storage area, waste area, etc.)
    • Sharing the warehouse layout all around the warehouse, for the Store Keeper and daily workers to have easy access
    • Making sure on daily basis, that the actual stock matches the stock follow-up tool
    • Ensuring that the warehouse is not used over its capacity and to not accept a Service Request Form that we could not honored
    • Deciding to accept or not a Service Request Form, based on the actual stock and the stock follow-up tool
    • Once Service Request Form accepted, deciding in which area the cargo will be stored, and communicate it with the Store Keeper
    • At cargo arrival stage for off-loading and storage: identifying the cargo with the stock follow-up tool, making sure that the Store Keeper is aware of which area is meant to be used to store the cargo.
    • Deciding to accept or postpone a Release Order Form, based on the actual workload in the warehouse
    • At cargo arrival stage for loading: identifying the cargo with the stock follow-up tool, making sure that the Sore Keeper is aware from which area the pallets must be taken
  1. Administrative
    • Making sure that necessary documentation is produced/collected at every step, signed and stamped, according to Acted procedures
    • Making sure to keep necessary documentation for daily workers payment (attendance sheet, payment voucher, reception form, etc.)
  1. Enhancing warehouse capacity
    • Ensuring efficient and organized storage system
    • Providing trainings to staffs in the warehouse
    • Identifying bottlenecks and suggesting, and operationalize improvements
    • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  2. Reporting
    • Updating continuously the stock follow-up tool
    • Sharing regularly and upon request the stock follow-up tool

متطلبات الوظيفة

V- Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in logsitcs , warehouses management , etc..
  • Experience working with INGOs is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to plan ahead and stress-resilient.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good attitude and ability to work in a team.
  • Willingness to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Good IT and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Valid Driving License and proving driving skills
