Position Title: Strategy & Business Development Advisor

Line Manager: National Director

Status: Full Time

Contract Type: Limited Contract

Location: Bethlehem

 

Position Summary:

Support the National Director in cascading the global strategy and the implementation of the strategic planning methodology. Coordinate strategic planning processes and act as the one focal person for coordinating and supporting the work of strategic and annual planning in the MA. Develop and lead strategic and annual planning methodology. Maintain an overview of a federation policy implementation practices at a strategic level.

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:

  • Driving SOS Palestine Organizational strategy development and implementation, including:
    • Reviewing existing care and business models.
    • Guide functions’ heads on SOS CVI Strategy requirements.
    • Analyse programme and fund strategic plans and recommend refinement to the ND.
    • Establish programme and fund quality monitoring indicators.
    • Provide input for programme reshape or scope change.
  • Prepare concept notes and interventions’ proposals per ND request.
  • Liaise with different partners and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate, support and ensure the consistency of MA strategic and annual planning processes. This includes specific support to the National Director and ensuring aligned steps and timelines across the federation.
  • Coordinate donor and CVI inputs on strategic planning topics and core policy processes
  • Coordinate and facilitate planning processes across the MA Functions.
  • Support and consult National Director on strategy relevant topics in order to develop strategy topics in alignment with donor and SOS CVI Requirements.
  • Responsible for strategic monitoring, strategy review, consolidation of strategic information based on information provided by function heads.
  • Responsible for overall strategy roll-out and the development of MA capacity in strategic annual planning, review, monitoring and reporting.
  • Responsible for maintaining an overview of the country’s cluster approach, priorities and supporting tools. This includes also building capacity in the region on this approach.
  • Collect learning regarding strategic planning approaches and methods and participate in the global strategy network.
  • Consult internal and external communications as necessary on management reporting and strategic planning information and ensure strategic issues are linked to internal and line communications in region

Child Safeguarding (CS)

  • Follows the Child Protection Policy, Code of Conduct, and reporting and responding procedures
  • Responsible within own area of work to raise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy principles and to prevent and protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination
  • Supports programmes/projects in preventing and mitigating child safeguarding risks for children and in planning and providing rehabilitation support in child abuse incidents.
  • Reports immediately any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident following nationally defined Child Safeguarding reporting procedures

Qualifications and Competencies for the position:

Must Criteria

  • Master’s degree in the field of Business Administration, business development or strategic planning.
  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience in strategic thinking, innovation and modelling.
  • Fluency of English, written and spoken
  • Leadership experience
  • Good knowledge of national regulations.
  • Readiness to travel

  • Strategic, analytical and process thinking abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and high degree of discretion and confidentiality

  • Work experience with Public Grants and State subsidies
