System Administrator

St John Eye Hospital is the leading provider of eye care in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza
Strip. The main Hospital is located in Jerusalem and in recent years has expanded its services with
the provision of Clinics in Hebron and Anabta. In addition to our extensive range of specialist
services we also provide services within the community through our Outreach Teams which travel
throughout the West Bank.

We are currently seeking to recruit a high caliber full time System Administrator to work on our
USAID project on a fixed term basis initially a year. This position will provide support to the hospital
and its clinics. In addition to user support, the successful candidate will work on setting and
administrating all hospital IT infrastructure.

The right candidate will be responsible for:
1-Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including
computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
2-Maintain and administer Active Directory, Domain Controller, DNS, and Exchange Server 2010.
3-Co-supervise the implementation of the new Hospital Information System.
4-Maintain the new HIS after installation in addition to provide training and technical support for
employees.
5-Linux administration and maintenance including squid, apache, and security options.
6-Knowledge in Internet security and maintaining of firewalls.
7-Some knowledge in IP and Digital PBX.
8-Good knowledge in programming languages including Java, PHP and .Net programming.
9-Database structure and design

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
1-Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
2-Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Unix or Microsoft.
3-Solid experience in administering and managing Microsoft Active Directory, User Accounts,
Policies, DNS, DHCP, Regular Backup, etc.. , Using Windows Server 2003, 2008, and Windows
Server 2008 R2
4-Four to six years’ system administration experience
5-Good English Language
6-Java and Net programming languages.
7-The ability to work under pressure and out-side of official working hours
