IT Engineers/Experts (Short Term)

AMIDEAST is an international, non-profit, educational organization headquartered in Washington D.C., with a network of field offices throughout the Middle East and North Africa including the West Bank and Gaza.

AMIDEAST and the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) are jointly implementing the Leadership and Teacher Development (LTD) Program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). LTD is a comprehensive education reform initiative focused on improving the quality of school education through an evidence-based approach to leadership and teacher development.

The Ministry, and in cooperation with the Leadership and Teacher Development Program (LTD) and AMIDEAST, is working toward developing the use of IT in the Ministry’s management and function, including human resources,  archiving, communication across the system, and various databases for planning and training at the three levels: schools, districts and the central administration.

AMIDEAST and the MOEHE are seeking to hire for short-term period (3 months) for the following position to be based at the MoEHE offices in Ramallah.

System /Application Developer (2 vacancies)

Responsibilities:
Develops reports in Business Intelligence tools such as SSRS, Crystal Reports or other open source reporting tools such as Jaspersoft or Pentaho. Connects data from complex databases, and formats into complex, embedded, and uniquely formatted reports. Supports the development team in developing web-based applications. Uses tools like Toad and SQL Server Management Studio to create and validate complex SQL queries.

Qualifications and Requirements:
-BSc Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems.
-At least 5 years proven experience as a developer of database and web-based applications.
-Good oral and written communication skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
