Teacher Education Officer

Education Development Center (EDC) is a leader in international programs and research. Established in 1958, EDC designs, delivers and evaluates innovative programs to address some of the world’s most urgent challenges in education, health, and economic opportunity.

EDC expects to have an increasing presence in the West Bank/East Jerusalem region and is looking for exceptionally qualified and committed individuals with the below qualifications.

EDC is looking for individuals whose knowledge, skills and experience would meet our
staff needs in projects in Middle East, particularly, at this time, in Palestine.

Teacher Education Officer will be responsible for the project’s continuous professional development
activities, such as education leadership and management training and practical interventions to
improve school leadership and management. He/she will work to promote a system of performance
driven professional development for teachers. S/he will be responsible for monitoring implementation, overseeing the development of training curricula, and managing resource for development. S/he will be expected to work collaboratively with government stakeholders in the design, management and execution of teacher professional development activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
The person in this position is expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, collaborators, co-workers, field sites, and funders; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. The job requiresadherence to EDC policies & procedures

Qualifications:
-Master’s Degree in education or related field; Ph.D preferred
-Minimum of fifteen years experience in teacher professional development;
-Strong organizational, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills.
