Summary of Position
IREX seeks a Teacher Training/Technical Expert for an expected USAID Pre-Service Professional Development Program in the West Bank. The program is expected to provide pre-service teacher training for newly assigned teachers.
The position is contingent on funding. Citizens of the West Bank are highly encouraged to apply.
Summary of Responsibilities:
-Work with COP and partner higher education institution leaders to create a vision for teacher professional development based on consultations with universities, teachers, school principals and staff, and other relevant government stakeholders
-Design, develop, and manage pre-service teacher training programs, professional development, and mentoring/coaching for teachers, in the areas of but not limited to: effective pedagogical techniques; experiential/hands-on learning methods; soft skills instruction; curriculum design; use of technology and ICT; academic quality standards; educational material development; applied research methods; and professional English
-Write work plans and reports.
-Supervise component staff.
-Contribute to monitoring and reporting.
Skills and Qualifications:
-Master’s degree in Education, Education Administration, Human Resource Management, Human Capital, Organizational Development, or a related field is preferred
-8 years of experience designing, developing, and leading teacher training activities and professional development
-Demonstrated expertise in areas such as teacher training programming, faculty training and development, improving learning environment, curriculum development, and/or development of education policies
-In-depth knowledge of the West Bank education sector
-Evidence of the ability to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders, such as teachers, administrators, trainers, and host government counterparts
-Excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills
-Ability to communicate professionally and provide written reporting in English and Arabic required
