IT Engineers/Experts (Short Term)

AMIDEAST is an international, non-profit, educational organization headquartered in Washington D.C., with a network of field offices throughout the Middle East and North Africa including the West Bank and Gaza.

AMIDEAST and the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) are jointly implementing the Leadership and Teacher Development (LTD) Program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). LTD is a comprehensive education reform initiative focused on improving the quality of school education through an evidence-based approach to leadership and teacher development.

The Ministry, and in cooperation with the Leadership and Teacher Development Program (LTD) and AMIDEAST, is working toward developing the use of IT in the Ministry’s management and function, including human resources,  archiving, communication across the system, and various databases for planning and training at the three levels: schools, districts and the central administration.

AMIDEAST and the MOEHE are seeking to hire for short-term period (3 months) for the following  position to be based at the MoEHE offices in Ramallah.

Team Leader/Business Intelligence Architect (1 vacancy)

Responsibilities:
Ensures that business rules are consistently applied across different user interfaces to limit the possibility of inconsistent results. Designs specifications and standards for semantic layers and multidimensional models for a multi-sourced Database environment. Consults on training and usage for the business community by selecting appropriate BI tools, features, and techniques. Sets and enforces BI standards and architecture. Manages and maintains system design, metadata, architecture, security rules. Responsible for ensuring that the team meets set deadlines and that team progress is monitored to ensure project success.

Qualifications and Requirements
-At least a master degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems, or a related field. (the first university degree must be in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems).
-At least 5 years proven experience in IT systems integration.
-Minimum 8 years proven experience in project management involving Agile or Waterfall methodologies; PMP Certificate preferred.
-Knowledge of database environments like MSSQL, Oracle, and open source database systems.
-Dynamic problem solving skills to develop innovative solutions.
-Proven leadership and team building skills.
 
-Strong analytical report writing and presentation skills.
-Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
-Excellent fluency in English.
-Strong oral and written communication skills.
