The Role:
As a Senior Technical / Development Manager, you will have a wide range of responsibilities focused on providing functional solutions to meet the needs of our company. You will be a part of a team of professionals that play a key role in implementing solutions and delivering results. Skilled at providing in-depth analysis and the ability to provide resolution to broad, complex, and critical work, the Senior Technical / Development Manager will act in a lead capacity on complex projects, mentoring and guiding others in all aspects of an implementation lifecycle with specific emphasis on systems analysis, functional design and testing.
Your role will entail the overall operational responsibility of the Development Teams, from analysing and gathering the collated assignments/projects, establishing project milestones & dependencies, delegating responsibility to Senior Members and motivating the team to ensuring the overall objective is met. Reporting to the Head of Solution Delivery, you will be liaising with Senior Management, managing expectations throughout the Project Life Cycle including defining the project estimates and resource plans against delivery needs.

Education & Experience:
-Minimum 3 years insurance system development experience required, either at an Insurance IT Vendor or at an Insurance Carrier / Agency.
-Minimum 7 years of experience with business application development and/or IT Consulting.
-Minimum 5 years project related experience with exposure to all phases of software development including: Analysis and Design, Implementation, Testing and Deployment.
-Knowledge of Human Capital Management solutions.
-Experienced in leading teams and providing mentorship/guidance to others through a full implementation lifecycle.
-Skilled in analyzing and documenting business requirements and corresponding solution specifications.
-Understanding of, and experience with, application architecture (client/server, web, database).
-Experience writing database queries in SQL.
-Experience with database development of stored procedures, triggers, and view functions.
-Solid development Management experience with an astute Technical understanding. You must have vast Delivery experience within a C#.Net, ASP.Net, Java environment and ideally have an experience with Oracle, SQL, Apache, Perl and Linux.
-Strong knowledge in web development with JSP (JavaScript or VBScript), Java, J2EE, Java.
-Experience with relational database modeling/object-oriented design.
-A deep understanding of all the current technologies, with excellent man management skills
-Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills.


Technical Knowledge & Skills:
-Knowledge of Insurance products and tools and ability to apply a variety of Insurance techniques, methods, processes, and practices to varied work assignments.
-Writes documentation in a clear and concise manner.
-Adjusts to changes in priorities and manages time effectively.
-Takes initiative to achieve value-added results, within scope of responsibility.
-Develops solutions that consider the impact on other aspects of the project.
-Has a confident, assertive decision making process
-Has excellent team building skills
-Is capable managing the individual workload and the team's priorities throughout multiple projects at any one time.
